Jack’s Legacy

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our founder Jack Holmes. Jack passed away on the evening of October 3rd 2024, surrounded by his close family at Woking & Sam Beare Hospice where he received incredible care from all the team.

Jack worked tirelessly building Transcend for 10 months, 7 of which he was on chemotherapy, and he continued to work hard throughout his final days from his bed at the hospice. Jack was so proud of the charity and everyone who helped to build it, but he was even prouder of the incredible community that formed in full force, to support us in our mission.

Jack continued to share his positivity from Woking & Sam Beare Hospice, where he was interviewed by the team to reflect on his experience there so far. The interview can be found here

We miss him terribly, but there is still work to be done. Transcend is Jack's legacy and we will not stop until there is a cure.
